I’ve been busy, but I have some posts planned. I’m going to have to review The Blind Side because the world needs my take on it, and I’ve got a few other things to say about the Oscars, which surprises me more than I can tell you because I couldn’t give less of a shit what people in LA think art is. I’ll attempt to get it done by the end of the weekend, though I can’t promise anything since there are flowers blooming in New York and I’m into spring like Lee Greenwood is into America.

Have you seen The Runaways? It’s not the greatest, but it doesn’t suck. I’m just happy it exists.
I had the misfortune of viewing The Blind Side recently. The portrayals of people of color were undoubtedly amongst the most sensitive and thoughtful I have ever seen (sarcasm).
I can’t wait for the review. With your wit, I’m sure it’ll be hilarious.

Oh God, The Blind Side. I watched it on the flight over to Japan (I’m back now, by the way). I watched it once in English and once in Japanese, just for the hell of it.
Utter crap, that film was. Racist as hell–Oher’s neighbors being violent, ebonics-using junkies who want to fuck white women? Brilliantly imaginative and absolutely necessary to the plot!–and hokey.
It was also depressingly predictable, and none of the characters really underwent any growth or development.
