Hey, 92–have you seen this monstrosity?

Can’t wait to hear you rip Pepsi a new one for this garbage…

Jesus. That ad is unbelievable. I am formulating Porn Part 7 right now, and I think this might fit in somehow. Either that or it’s time for War on Terr’r Part 7 (another installment on ads).

  6. isme October 18, 2008 at 2:42 AM #

    Unfortunately, it’s not unbelievable.

My name is Bill, and I am a terr’rist!

I am not a violent man. I abhor violence as a tool for anything. I am aganst capital punishment, even though the murders committed are gruesome. Indeed, some may call me a wimp. I escort insects out of my house rather than kill them. I even get choked up seeing a dead animal on the side of the road. The thought of a pre-birth child being killed because they were conceived at an inconvenient time just doesn’t work for me.

From that basis, I am against abortion. Not because I want to tell anyone what to do, but because I have seen death up close and personal. And I don’t like it.

I suppose I could bolster my pro-feminist cred by mouthing “Rah! Rah! Right To Choose!”. But it would be an insincere sentiment.

So, I suppose that even though I support equality in the workplace, the public space, and everywhere else, I’m sure I will be branded a misogynist, a “terr’rist”, simply because I believe that the life of the preborn child is just as precious as that of a post-born convicted murder. So be it!

Bill – That might be easy for you to say because you’ll never be forced to carry a fetus against your will. But at least you’re ideologically consistent.

  9. Lemur October 18, 2008 at 11:28 PM #

LOL your dead gay babies. Sorry, I came over after spending time at Shakesville. (A vote for Obama is a vote for gays and dead babies, so why not dead gay babies? on toast!)

  10. Genevieve October 20, 2008 at 1:52 PM #

I love that kind of button too, the only problem is that most of the anti-choicers believe that being gay is a choice, that no one’s really born gay, and that they can turn people un-gay. It might not work too well with them.

    Though it’s still funny.

    And Bill–
It’s very very easy for a man to be pro-life. You know what’s more difficult? Compassion, for the woman, not the fetus.

Why do men think their opinions about women’s reproductive rights even matter? They shouldn’t, they sure don’t matter to me.

  12. Renee October 21, 2008 at 12:54 AM #

I’m sure that button burns just a little. I cannot wait to read the post that goes with this one.

  13. isme October 21, 2008 at 12:45 PM #

“Why do men think their opinions about women’s reproductive rights even matter? They shouldn’t, they sure don’t matter to me.”

Why do women think their opinions about other womens reproductive rights even matter?

  14. Nine Deuce October 21, 2008 at 2:30 PM #

isme – Women’s opinions about other women’s reproductive rights don’t matter, as long as they aren’t trying to limit anyone’s right to decide what to do with her own body.

  15. Bill October 25, 2008 at 10:18 AM #

While we are at it, we should make assisted suicide available to EVERYONE, and not just the terminally ill. If abortion is OK because everyone has the right to “my body my choice”, then suicide should be an unlimited right as well. Social consequences and the emotional impact on survivors be damned.

(BTW: It’s suprising the Rethuglicans don’t support that position, since supposedly liberals are more prone to suicide than conservatives. And you would think they would -support- free abortion for poor women: fewer black, brown, and beige babies ultimately means fewer chances of precious little Ashley hooking up with Jamaal or Carlos instead of Brad!)

And thank goodness John Edwards’ health care plan that would FORCE people to go to the doctor for checkups is dead. My body, my choice – if I don’t want to subject myself to the health care system, that’s MY business.

My body, my choice! In for a penny, in for a pound!

While we are at it, we should make assisted suicide available to EVERYONE, and not just the terminally ill. If abortion is OK because everyone has the right to “my body my choice”, then suicide should be an unlimited right as well. Social consequences and the emotional impact on survivors be damned.

Actually, abortion isn’t available to anyone, it’s available to pregnant women. If you’re not pregnant, you absolutely cannot have an abortion. This thereby makes it a conditional right–just as euthanasia would be if it were only available to terminally ill people.
Personally, people should have the right to worry or not worry about the consequences on their survivors as they see fit. If a man gets a vasectomy, no one (except maybe people who know him personally) asks: “why are you doing this? What about the other people in your life? How will this effect them?” But if it is a pregnant woman or an elderly terminally ill person, there is suddenly an outpouring of concern trolling because while able-bodies middle-aged men are assumed to be utterly cognizant of the ramifications of their actions, women and elderly people are not. Stop this misogynist and ageist bullshit.

Since the people who’d react to these badges are more often than not fundies, I wonder if there’s badges with ‘May the Fetus you save be Satanist’? Good for a laugh…

Oh, and Bill…a few months back you said you were gonna commit suicide because you were a self-hating white male. Gained some levity, or a different Bill?

  18. Bill December 3, 2008 at 7:45 AM #

Nah. Still me. I decided I am who I am, I can’t change that, and just because the world is full of violent, greedy phuckheads who share my demographic that doesn’t make -me- a bad person.

Besides, I love my “peeps” way too much to do that to them!

  19. munkie June 13, 2010 at 11:53 PM #

Hah! Ever heard the saying “kill a gay fetus for Jesus.” It’s super cool, ’cause–see, it rhymed!!! This is the mentality of the people in my community.
